Ingredients: Sencha Green Tea
In the 17th Century, Sencha tea become a revolutionary alternative to the long-established elaborate ritual of the Japanese tea ceremony.
Our sencha tea grows in the misty peaks of Minami Yamashiro, Kyoto. This mountain plateau was once the floor of Lake Biwa, and the ancient red clay lake bed still holds the vital minerals of the marine ecosystem it once fed. Flourishing in this rich soil, the plantations soak up full sunlight before being plunged into cold mountain nights. These dramatic temperature changes slow the metabolic rate of the leaves, limiting yield but intensifying the flavour, minerals and polyphenols for a superior tea.
Sencha offers a calm, focused energy that’s ideal for work or study, thanks to its combination of caffeine and the relaxing amino acid l-theanine. With powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, Sencha tea can also help maintain heart health, reduce LDL cholesterol, prevent and reduce inflammation and improve your sense of wellbeing.
This tea comes in a reusable canister containing 100g of Loose Leaf Tea.
